Sony made two recent announcements about its products. One involved the discontinuation of a struggling console model, while the other announcement involved the expansion of the Blume Series. (If you even know what Sony's Blume series is, you are the hardest of hardcore).
Sony has officially announced that they will no longer manufacture the 20 and 60 gig PS3 systems for the Japanese market. Instead, Sony will only offer the 40 gig model sans PS2 backwards compatibility. It is certainly perplexing that Sony would abandon a feature that could help sales of its console, which languishes in third place behind Microsoft and Nintendo. Perhaps Sony is looking for a way to distinguish the PS3 from its competitors. If that is the case, mission accomplished as the PS3 is now the only console in Japan that is not backwards compatible. Nice.
On a more positive note, Sony has announced the newest edition to the Blume series - Mint Green. The Blume series is Sony's line of pastel-colored PSP's. Until now, the Blume series included Lavender, Felicia Blue, Rose Pink, Ceramic White, Ice and Piano Black.
Bonus points if you actually know the official pronunciation of "Blume".....
It's not "bloom" but "blue-may." Because everything is sexier with a French accent.

This proves that indeed Sony is being run by a collection of lobotomized moths... attracted to the glowing headlights of a quickly approaching and impending DOOM...
