« Johnny Turbo vs. Sega | Main | The NDS Is Gonna Pump You Up! »
It's been more than ten years since Nights appeared on the system made famous by Segata Sanshiro, but that never stopped rabid fanboys from dreaming about a sequel. Sure, there was Christmas Nights, but while the unlockable content and its use of the Saturn's internal clock was cool, Christmas Nights was really more of an expansion than a sequel.
And so gamers waited and waited.........
With no new substantive Nights announcements since the launch of the Dreamcast, rumors began to circulate. There were reports that the seemingly androgynous Nights and the exceedingly masculine Segata Sanshiro were actually one and the same. As absurd as the notion may sound, many gamers were unable to dismiss as coincidence the timing of Nights disappearance with Segata Sanshiro's heroic death. And so the rumors persisted.
But as every PG Satori knows by now, all of those rumors were false. Nights' ten-year slumber is about to end as the first true sequel is set for release on the Nintendo Wii. While details including release date are still sparse, it's safe to bet that the game will involve flying and will take full advantage of the Wii's unique control interface. In the meantime, enjoy these screenshots
May you rest in peace Segata Sanshiro.
