Best Selling Games of 2007 Announced
Every one knows that the Nintendo DS has been dominating the sales charts in Japan ever since the release of the DS Lite. Strong hardware sales, however, don't necessarily translate into dominant software sales. Case in point, in Japan the #1 selling game of 2007 is not for the NDS but a PSP exclusive.

In a recent issue, Famitsu announced the top 100 best selling games of 2007. The following is a list of the top 20.

Just to break it down, while the PSP had the best selling game with Monster Hunter Portable 2nd, the NDS had 14 of the 20 best sellers of 2007. Interestingly, the only next gen console to land a place in the top 20 was the Nintendo Wii with three titles. Both the PS3 and the Xbox 360 were shut out. For the record, the PS3 had just one title in the top 100, Gundam Musou, while the XBOX 360 was shut out entirely.
Perhaps a sign of the staying power of Nintendo titles or perhaps a sign that 2007 has been a slow year for games, 10 of the top 20 titles were released prior to 2007. A couple of titles such as Oideyo Doubutsu no Mori, Mario Kart DS and Nou wo Kitaeru were released as far back as 2005.
As for the software publishers, if you aren't Nintendo, 2007 has been a tough year so far. While Nintendo published 13 of the top 20 best selling games of 2007, Capcom only placed three on the list, SquareEnix scored three and Koei snuck in with just one title.
So how did Pink Godzilla customer favorites such as Ouendan 2 and Bleach DS 2nd fare? Ouendan 2 ended up in 52nd place with 173,151 sold and Bleach DS 2nd placed just ahead of Magic Taizen for 85th place with just 102,055 units sold.
Just goes to show what is popular amongst importers in not necessarily popular amongst Japanese gamers.

Man what can you say to Japenese they like a game like Blue dragon over Kameo, not to say they kind of hate FPS.Resistance was not the no.1 Ps3 game.
