Things Pink Godzilla Learned @ PAX 2006 & Highlights

The dust has settled. The booth has been placed in hybernation. The Meydenbauer staff has picked up all the green zip ties. And PG BAM is no longer in complete disaray. Yes, PAX 2006 is in the books and it's time to start getting ready for PAX 2007.

Here is a review of what PG learned at PAX along with a list of the highlights. Make sure to share with us what you learned at PAX. We'd love to hear from ya'!

Things Pink Godzilla learned at PAX (unfortunately PG staffers had very little opportunity to explore the convention).

1. Sixty-four square feet might be a nice number for the Pink Godzilla booth to pay homage to a retro Nintendo system, but it is not nearly enough booth space to accomodate 20,000 ravenous videogame fans.

2. According to 1up.com, however, Pink Godzilla's sixty-four square feet of booth space apparently contained more import games than the entirety of NYC. Poor NYC.

3. PAX attendees love their rhythm games. Top two sellers at Pink Godzilla over the weekend? Ouendan and Rhythm Tengogku of course!

4. The GBA is not dead! Rhythm Tengoku and the bit generation games were far more popular than the PSP games and almost as popular as the NDS titles.

5. It can be very lonely walking around PAX with a PSP. Pink Godzilla's official PSP sighting counter peaked at two.

6. Pink Godzilla Dev Kit is a hit! It even outsold Ouendan at PAX. Everyone's makin' videogames. Why not you?

7. Elite Beat Agents is going to be a hit, even if it is a slightly inferior game to Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan.

8. Don't drink Bawls as a 'night cap' before you go to bed the night before the Exhibition Hall opens.

9. The Pink Godzilla Tournament Series' own Otto is a force to be reckoned with. Not only did he kick butt in Smash Bros., but he also had top five finishes in Mario Kart DS and Mario Kart DD. Watch out for the Wolf!

10. The table top game room needs to have better ventillation next year. Fans! Lots of fans please!

11. Always keep your Tetris skills sharpened. You never know when they'll come in handy!

12. Tom Fulp is a Master P fan and owns one of these.

13. Gabe, Tycho and Mr. Khoo really know how to throw a party! 2007 SHOULD BE GIANORMOUS!!!

PG Booth Highlights

1. Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan is best selling NDS game.

2. Rhythm Tengoku followed by Dot Stream are the best selling GBA games.

3. Cup O' Zilla is the most popular PG t-shirt design followed by the Japanese logo tee.

4. Battle Stadium D.O.N. is the best selling Gamecube game.

5. Pikmin Collection and Mario Kart are the best selling toys.

6. Zelda Minish Cap is the best selling cell phone strap.

7. Hori Hardcase is the best selling DS Lite case.

8. PG's collection of rare games is practically decimated by the rabid PAXites.
