Further proof that all the cool stuff gets released first (or only) in Japan, Nintendo announces the MSX and Neo Geo for their Virtual Console. The thought of gamers in the Land of the Rising Sun potentially enjoying MSX Castlevania or Neo Magician Lord on the Wii leads us to wonder... where's our love, Nintendo?
The MSX has almost no chance of coming here, but with SNK Playmore's current support for Nintendo systems, the virtual Neo Geo has a shot on these shores.
Titles can be plumbed from the back catalog of games that never got released in compilations like Metal Slug Anthology or Neo Geo Battle Archives. Great schmups like Pulstar, Last Resort and Blazing Star as well as action and platform games like Blues Journey and Top Hunter would help cement the Wii as the system for hardcore as well as casual gamers.
Now someone just needs to make a good arcade stick to connect to the Wiimote. We're looking at you, Ascii and Hori!
Even more mysterious is the unknown eigth tile on Nintendo's Virtual Console page. Good money rides on this being the SG-1000 Mark III which was the Sega Master System on these shores.
Discuss which Neo games you love to see in the forums and email Nintendo and SNK Playmore and demand your Neo on the Wii. Tell em Pinky G sent ya!
