The man, the myth, the legend, Segata Sanshiro is back! Well, sorta. At a press conference in Japan for Sega's new Rambo arcade game, Hiroshi Fujiioka, the actor that played Segata Sanshiro, helped show off the game and gave Japanese gamers a glimpse back in time to the glory days of the Sega Saturn.

For those who don't know about the Legend of Segata Sanshiro or even those who do, take a quick look back at the great man that caused a nation to fall in love with the Sega Saturn:
Back in the late 1990’s Segata was the man! He was responsible for forcing the nation of Japan back into love with video games by forcing them to play Sega Saturn. The music video above shows the great things that Segata Sanshiro brought the world, great commercials and one of the best theme songs ever recorded. His accomplishments were enormous, but great success comes at a great price. Many people believed that Segata died a tragic death in 1998. Segata met his untimely demise when he sacraficed his life to save a group of Sega executives from a rogue missile attack by...well no one knows for sure, but speculation includes Nolan Bushnell out of sheer spite for the failures of the Atari Jaguar. Segata's sacrifice moved the leaders of Sega and he was memorialized with a great gift, his own game, Segata Sanshirou Shinken Yuugi.
Hiroshi Fujiioka's presence at the Rambo arcade game press conference provides great hope to Segata Sanshiro fans everywhere. Good a new Segata Sanshiro game be in the works for the Wii perhaps? Take a moment to reminisce as Segata’s calm face warms the hearts of gamers everywhere.
