PG @ Home: Part One in a Series

Due to popular demand PG is proud to present, PG @ Home, a delightful series of PG themed items that anyone can enjoy in the comfort of their own home with just a few simple supplies. Tune in after the jump for the first wonderful surprise!

Have you ever sat in a dark gloomy room and wondered what the secret is to brightening that room like the streets of Akihabara? Well have no fear! Deep from within the PG vault we have unearthed a design for a papercraft Pink Godzilla! That’s right, with just a color printer, some glue, tape and scissors; Pink Godzilla can brighten even the darkest of gaming lairs with a fresh look on almost any item in the room.

Papercraft is fun for all ages! Gaming papercraft are not only fun but great to add a spark to any collection. From a complete replica of Green Hill Zone Act One to a Famicom system with Super Mario Brothers or even Master Chief, there is no shortage of gaming papercraft to help brighten a room.

Ready to give it a try? Just print out these two schemapagrams below to get started!

Schemapagram Number One

Schemapagram Number Two

Okay, so now it is a simple process to build your own Pink Godzilla; get your rubber cement, scissors and tape at the ready along of course with the two schemapagrams. First, cut out all of the pieces (watch out for the tabs!) and lay them out in front of you.

Start by gluing the ‘body’ together by attaching the tab on the left side to the right forming a hollow shell with the base being the bottom. Now try weighting the body with a few coins or any small heavy objects you have lying around to support the weight of the tail.

Next, attach the arms to the body on the side and form the head by attaching the bottom tab to the top with the rubber cement. Secure the sides by first gluing the long thin strip to the circle and then move on to the head tabs. Next, attach one of the two small fins to the top back part of Pink Godzilla’s head and keep on going.

Form the sides first then glue the sides to the body

Now that the main body is done, move on to the tail, glue the left tab to the right and close the tail in a cone shape. Now attach the remaining three fins in order, starting with the largest to the smallest along Pink Godzilla’s tail. Attach the tail to the base by trimming the large end of the tail to fit around the curved body as tightly fitting as possible.

The final step! Finish Pink Godzilla off by forming the feet by gluing the left tab of each foot to the right and attaching the base in a cone shape. Attach the feet in front of Pink Godzilla with a small piece of tape protruding out from the base of the body. Now step back and enjoy your very own Pink Godzilla!

Stay tuned for more PG @ Home articles in the future! The best place to display your newly created paper Pink Godzilla is close to some gaming action to keep Pinky G occupied. Just a Holiday reminder, the Pink Godzilla plushy goes on sale in November!

Pinky G loves to play Armor Attack on the Vectrex!
