The third Dev Kit Developers League meeting was held this past Sunday and the league continues to grow as more and more developers show up to try their luck against the leagues best. The most recent meeting brought Rick Labadie, the current Dev Kit World Champion out to play a few matches and even issue of challenge of sorts to his nemesis, Cheatum, who took second place at the PAX 07 Dev Kit tourney. Hit the jump for the updated scores and a video message from Rick to Cheatum!
Everyone's Makin' Videogames. Why Not You?
Here are the updated results of Round 3 of the Dev Kit Developer's league. The point total is the product of your average score plus your average margin of victory/defeat multiplied by your winning percentage. So if you didn't win a game, your score is zero. But don't worry. Only your best 15 games count toward your final score, so there is plenty of time for everyone to rise to the top of the leaderboard. The more you play, the better your chances of qualifying for the tournament of champions in November.

The leagues growth has brought some new changes to the standings after 3 complete meeting have taken place. The unfortunate events of the first two meetings that placed Elders Goban and Kozo in last and second to last respectively were not in effect at this meeting and both managed to pull off a few wins, but only Elder Goban was able to advance as Elder Kozo holds down his coveted second to last place spot in the league. The league is still in its beginning phases so it is still anyone’s game to be invited to the tournament of champions in November.
The big news from this past Sunday is the appearance of Rick, the Dev Kit World Champion and the absence of Cheatum, who was rumored to appear after an apparent early recovery from his recent Dev Kit injury that was thought to put him out for the season. Rick was vocally disappointed at Cheatums' absence and issued this statement at the League meeting; hit the play button for the full scoop.
So there you have it! Rick is sure that Cheatum is afraid to face him at a public tournament! Only time will tell if Cheatum will be found and will have the courage to face Rick in a public game of high stakes Dev Kit! Stay tuned for more on this exciting story of the battle for Dev Kit World Champion as the challenges are issued and games are played. The other absence of Dev Kit Celebrity, Joe Zone Joe, was of little shock to those in the know. He is certainly a reclusive player, who hones his skills behind closed doors, but is not ready to share them with the world. As the next meeting grows near, there are many questions to be answered; Will Cheatum and Rick have a showdown of epic proportions? Will Rick be defeated and still hold his title? Will Joe Zone Joe make it to any of the League meetings? The answers to these questions and more await the next Dev Kit Developers League meeting to be found out.
