Songs that should NEVER appear in Guitar Hero

Around the time of the release of Guitar Hero II for the Playstation 2, we offered our predictions for 10 songs that should be considered for future releases of the Guitar Hero series. With the promise of some new tracks for the Xbox 360 version (Iron Maiden's "The Trooper" is said to be included!!!!), we now present to you, dear reader, 10 songs that should NEVER find their way into future versions of the game. Read on after the fold, if you dare...

Eurodisco Part 1

10. Tommy Seebach Band - Apache
We begin our journey of musical nuttiness with this entry from a very popular Danish band from the 1970s, the Tommy Seebach Band. Don't forget this is also the country that gave us King Diamond and Lars Ulrich. However, unlike Lars, Tommy probably wants you to trade his music online with your friends.

Singing Superstars of the Silver Screen

9. Bruce Willis - The Return of Bruno
The multi-"talented" Bruce Willis actually made a record in the 1980s, while at the same time managing to make hit movie after hit movie. There is a very good reason he only made this one record, people. You gotta love those white glasses the band is sporting!

As seen on Sega CD

8. Kriss Kross - Jump
You know you made it big as a musician in the 1990s if Sega decides to release a CD game based on your hit music. Just ask Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch and INXS if you don't believe us! Full Motion Video games on Laserdisc are the wave of the future!!!

Smooth Yacht Rawkin' Sounds of the 1970s

7. Christopher Cross - Sailing
Music Trivia Corner: Aside from Norah Jones, Christopher Cross is the only other artist to receive the "Big Four" Grammy awards (Best Record, Song, Album, and New Artist) in one year.
This song is still the ultimate nautical anthem to many boaters worldwide who blast this song at top volume from their below deck 8 Track players while out in the water. Just don't expect that Guitar Hero players would want to do the same.

Wrestling Music

6. Hulk Hogan - Real American
Ah, the 1980s. No other era of modern wrestling is still as loved by many people worldwide, from casual to hardcore wrestling fans. This song written by Rick Derringer was Hulk Hogan's entrance theme for a while in the WWF. You can also hear the awesome 8 Bit version on "Wrestlemania" for the NES.

Eurodisco Part 2

5. Teach In - The Robot
This is an amazing live performance from this 1970's Dutch Pop group, Teach-In. They won the Eurovision contest in 1975, one year after ABBA won it for Sweden. More bands need to take a cue from Teach-In and feature robots on stage and in their songs.

Mall Culture of the late 1990's 101

4. Lyte Funky Ones - Summer Girls
It's hard to believe that only a few summers ago, this song was all over top 40 radio and blaring out of every Abercrombie and Fitch from Northgate to Southcenter, and probably still does. Former New Kid on the Block, Danny Wood actually recorded some demo tracks for these guys back in his basement at one point.

Early 1980s MTV

3. Hall & Oates - Maneater
The cat from the box art of the Atari Jaguar comes to life in this song from the classic 80s pop duo, Hall & Oates, singing about the dangers of playing too many hours of "White Men Can't Jump" on the Atari Jaguar consecutively. These guys were prophets in every sense of the word.

Webcam Shenanigans

2. This guy's version of Bon Jovi's "Dead or Alive"
Wow. Just.....wow.

Worldwide sensations of the 1970s

1. George Baker Selection - Una Paloma Blanca
This was a number 1 song all over the world in the 1970s. Perhaps this song would make a fine addition to "Recorder Hero" or "1970s Dutch Pop Star Hero".

There you have it folks, a sampling of ten tracks we hope we never have to play on Guitar Hero. Virtual axe grinders having to play Avenged Sevenfold's "Beast and the Harlot" was plenty bad enough for all of us on Guitar Hero II, right?
