Dev Kit League Set To Begin

dev.kit.card.back.new.gifBeginning on March 2nd, the official Dev Kit Developer's League is set to begin. To prepare you for the epic battles that are sure to ensue this Sunday, we're publishing the official Dev Kit league rules. Be sure to study them well. You don't want to be sitting there with egg on your face when you try to play a Pink Godzilla card after the Finance Phase instead of waiting until after the Purchase Phase. Even if you're not a Dev Kit pro, be sure to attend as we'll be giving Dev Kit tutorials as well. We might even bust out the beta version of the first Dev Kit expansion....and prizes.

Save yourself from embarrassment. Continue reading for all the details.

When: First and Third Sunday of Every Month

Where: Blue Highway Games in Queen Anne

TIme: 2:00 to 5:00 pm.

Cost: Free to the public.

Experience Level: From beginner to expert, all ability levels are welcome.

Format: Three-player matches. Must play a minimum of 15 matches between March and November. Only your ten best games count toward your final score.

Weekly Prizes: $20 Pink Godzilla gift certificate for weekly winners.

Special League Rules:

All matches will consist of three players.

Game ends when one player makes four games.

Pink Godzilla power trades must be performed after the Purchase Phase as opposed to the FInance Phase despite what is written on the card.

In case of a tie at the end of the game, the overall winner is the developer with the most valuable single completed video game.

Rule disputes will be resolved by Dev Kit judges.

Before the start of the Dev Kit league, it would probably be a good idea to familiarize yourself with the official FAQ or with the update regarding the Sniper and Holiday Rush cards. And be sure to keep a mindful eye out for the Joe Zone.

League Notes:

The League will be broken up into two phases. Phase One is the Dev Kit regular season which will run from March to November. Phase Two is the playoffs. The top twelve performers during the regular season will qualify for Phase Two's Tournament of Champions. Prizes will be awarded to the top designers.

During Phase One, there will be no elimation matches. To be considered for the Tournament of Champions, however, you will need to play in atleast 15 matches. All of your scores will be recorded by Dev Kit officials. Only your best ten rounds, however, count towards your final score. So the more you play, the better your chances for qualifying for the Tournament of Champions.

Here is the formula we will be using to determine your overall score.

(AVG Score + AVG Margin of Victory) x (Winning Percentage) = Point Total

We will publish the results of each official league event here on our blog as well as the overall standings.

In addition to exhibiting to the world your Dev Kit chops, through the course of the year you will have opportunities to test your skills against the likes of the reigning Dev Kit world champion Rick Labadie, game designer Christopher Rao, "Joe Zone" Joe as well as many other Dev Kit mini celebrities.

So be sure to join us at the inaugral event on March 2nd at Blue Highway Games. Matches will start shortly after 2:00 pm.

Everyone's Makin' Videogames. Why Not You?
