The 2008 Child’s Play dinner auction was once again a classy event that raised a ton of money for a great cause. The Pink Godzilla crew went and had a great time mingling with the gaming industries elite, occasionally bidding on a few items with no success. The real highlight of the evening is having participated in an event that raised over 200k for the children. After the success of Pinkapalooza 2 the day after the auction, the PG crew was happy with the amount raised for the kids in just a few short days.Notice the delicate touch Elder Matsu has as he displays this year’s auction catalog, taking such care as he handles the important document.
Hit the jump for some pics and video from the event including this years’ entry into the ‘random items signed by Peter Moore’ category. Last year Peter Moore signed a pair of boxer shorts, this year a black Sega Sports Dreamcast was the lucky item up for bid. Check out more of the exclusive gaming swag up for grabs at this years auction after the jump.
After a long night of rocking, drinking, donating and giveaways, Pinkapalooza 2 came to a close after bags and bags of money were collected for Child's Play. Lots of gamers came out to show their support and had a great time rocking out with the PG crew and all those in attendance. Even with all the festivities taking place, it was still all about the kids. All of the great prizes that were donated from Microsoft, The Behemoth, Harmonix, Nintendo, Insomniac Games and even Pink Godzilla were raffled off or given away to gamers looking to have a good time while helping out a great cause. Thanks to everyone who came out and had a great time hanging out, playing a little Rock Band 2, or even just watching the show. For those who missed last year show as well, take a quick look at last year's wrapup, to get better acquainted with how it all works.
The night began as the PG crew made its way to the Nectar Lounge in Fremont, hauling in the tiny plastic instruments just as they did last year, but this year there were real instruments as well! As PG was setting up Rock Band 2 for the event, The Open Blue arrived early to prep their gear and help get things set up. Along side the Rock Band drums was a real drum set, alongside the Rock Band Guitars were, you guessed it, real guitars. Before long Fighter X and Leeni showed up to prep their gear, making sure that their were subtle reminders of game music from the good old 8 bit days, played on their Gameboy's. Hit the jump for a full recap, now with moving pictures!

Just a few short weeks ago PAX 08 was in full swing so PG held a little Dev Kit tourney where games were made, dreams were crushed and in the end a winner was crowned. Due to some issues (including an Elder going out of the country for a bit) the Dev Kit scores took a little while to get to the public, but unfortunately for some, the scores are still the same. The Dev Kit tourney brought some new faces and some old ones including last years champ, Rick out to try and hold his title for another year. How did the PG's favorite Elder-in-Training, Cheatum, fair in this years tourney, after his second place finish last year? Did anyone enter the Joe Zone? Hit the jump for a full breakdown with stats and pics included!
Thanks to Emil of the Behemoth's handy camerawork, this epic moment in PG history was saved for all future generations to see. After enjoying the video, make sure you check out their PAX08 write-up. We can't wait to see what sort of revenge they have planned for PAX 09 (read the last paragraph of their blog). We might just end up sleeping at our booth with a bunch of ninjas to be safe.
PAX 08 came and went, the Elders and the rest of the PG crew had a blast hanging out at the show and even had a few memorable moments. Da Boof at PAX was often a little crowded, filled with happy gamers looking at the games, toys, figures and PG swag that adorned the walls as well as a glance or two upward aimed at the tower of PG plushies that brought a little pink to gamers everywhere. Hit the jump for a full recap with pics and video included!
It's that time of the year again! In just 2 little days, Pink Godzilla and it's legendary boof will be all up in PAX 2008. This year marks PG's 3rd year as an exhibitor and our fourth year in attendance. PG was still a hatch-ling when the 2nd annual PAX was held in '05 in Bellevue. In '06 we introduced Da Boof Jr. In '07 we brought in the Da Boof Sr. And in '08? It'll be bigger and badder than last year's but we're fresh out of family acronyms to give it (Da Boof the III? doesn't really roll off the tongue) so we'll just stick with Da Boof. Kool?
Hit the jump for a quick preview of what's in store for PG this year at PAX 2008.
Whether or not PG will ever make it into Comicon remains a mystery, but you can't say we haven't given an A for effort. (waking up at 4am in the morning to line up after watching the Minnie-Bosses till 2am the night before = dedication) On the positive tip, we did get to the bottom of several other great life-conundrums at the San Diego Comicon such as: Does Jabba's palat agree with the ever-spicy prinny, doods? (yes) Will Elder Taragan, a member of the monthly PS3 hata-club, pick up one up if it's a limited edition MGS4 set at a nice price? (yes) Do the Mini-bosses rock da club with Castelvania 1? (all night long) And last but not least.... Does the oh-so-nectary, Arrogant Bastard flow from taps in abundance in San Diego????? (like water!)
Thanks to the hard-nosed journalism of Jumpman, rumors have been confirmed. The East Coast, the old stomping grounds of Elders Taragan and Matsu, is going to be receiving a little taste of the Pink and Green. In case you missed it, Penny Arcade announced today that starting in 2010, the Penny Arcade Expo (PAX) will be going dual coast. And of course, what would PAX be without the P to the G, so you can count on da boof being there in all its glory.

We came and we saw, but as we were unable to secure a booth this year, Pink Godzilla was unable to conquer Comicon the way we've conquered conventions past. But was a loss for the throngs of conventioneers at Comicon became Pink Godzilla's gain as travel weary Elders Taragan and Matsu were able to try out a slew of great games that had made the short journey down the I-5 corridor from E3.

Resident PG photographer miko35 snapped up some awesome photos at Sakuracon. Unfortunately, thanks to a misplaced camera, we were a bit late in getting these photos to market. After weeks of league play with some of the best Dev Kit players in the world, the Elders have begun to notice a pattern. Not everyone is playing by the same rules. Some haven't read the instruction manual very carefully. Others have read the instruction manual too literally. Very few appear to have actually read the official Dev Kit FAQ. To get everyone back on the same page, Pink Godzilla's resident Dev Kit rules expert, Elder Taragan, is here to set the record straight and bust some of the most common Dev Kit myths.
The PG Dev Kit Developers League is still going strong and the latest meeting brought a two hour overtime period where the battles continued late into the evening. Some players have had a recent streak of bad luck, but there are many League meetings left change their overall standings, including a special event this coming weekend. At Sakuracon 08, the smell of freshly toasted Eggo waffles and melting chocolate ice cream emanated from the Penny Arcade booth. Meanwhile, from the front of the hall spewed the stench of the convention grinch. So it was inevitable that these ion-charged odor fronts would collide. The results were predictable. When the sweet smells associated with victory combine with the horrific stench of utter defeat, the environment is perfect for the Joe Zone.
And the Joe Zone indeed claimed a new victim at Sakuracon 2008. Continue reading to find out who!

And finally, Germans always love themselves a little Pinky G!
