The battle continues as the developers regroup after the special Dev Kit tournament at Jet City Retro where PG's own Elder Taragan was crowned the champion. The competition gets interesting as many of the leagues hardcore attendees double the required 15 games needed for the tournament of champions in November and try to improve their margins to get there. If you've never been to Sakuracon, it's quite a feast for the eyes. Surreal images abound - whether it's Optimus Prime, a female hedgehog, or whatever it's always fun to be in the vendor hall and watch the passersby.

Dev Kit League Update #5: Jet City Retro
This past weekend, PG held a special Dev Kit League tourney at Jet City Retro in Seattle's University District where games were made and some dreams were crushed. PG had a fun time showing off the Dev Kit and got to see some great classic games and systems for sale as the other vendors strutted their stuff. PG played some fantastic retro games in the free play rooms at the lavish Hotel Deca and even got in a little Rock Band practice. Jet City Retro April 26-27
If you're a gaming fan, then you're gonna wanna be at Hotel Deca on "The Ave", site of this year's annual NWCGE gaming expo - Jet City Retro. Past years have been chock full of wondrous gaming treasures and this year should be no different. PG will be in attendance and have got a couple of fun events going on during the convention. Dev Kit Myth Busters
After weeks of league play with some of the best Dev Kit players in the world, the Elders have begun to notice a pattern. Not everyone is playing by the same rules. Some haven't read the instruction manual very carefully. Others have read the instruction manual too literally. Very few appear to have actually read the official Dev Kit FAQ. To get everyone back on the same page, Pink Godzilla's resident Dev Kit rules expert, Elder Taragan, is here to set the record straight and bust some of the most common Dev Kit myths.
Dev Kit League Update #4
The PG Dev Kit Developers League is still going strong and the latest meeting brought a two hour overtime period where the battles continued late into the evening. Some players have had a recent streak of bad luck, but there are many League meetings left change their overall standings, including a special event this coming weekend. At Jet City Retro an officially sanctioned special tournament will take place, so stop by and play a few games against the Elders and check out some great classic games as well. Sakura-Con 08 Wrap Up
Now that Sakura-Con 08 has come and gone, the Elders have had some time to relax after a long and arduous Con. Lots of gamers came and saw da boof sr. and played some prinny good games of Dev Kit as well as seeing some prinny cool import and retro games. At Sakuracon 08, the smell of freshly toasted Eggo waffles and melting chocolate ice cream emanated from the Penny Arcade booth. Meanwhile, from the front of the hall spewed the stench of the convention grinch. So it was inevitable that these ion-charged odor fronts would collide. The results were predictable. When the sweet smells associated with victory combine with the horrific stench of utter defeat, the environment is perfect for the Joe Zone.

PG Approved Halloween Costumes: 2007 Edition Part 2
Last week we showcased a few can't miss gaming themed costumes for Halloween. Our sources tell us that the weekend's Halloween parties were a smashing success, full of Noids, Tingles, and Tron Guys.

In addition to Pink Godzilla's Nathan Paine, guests included Michael Pachter, a research analyst for Wedbush Morgan. Although time is short forcing the analysis into the abyss of generalities, much was said in the brief time alloted.

PG at PAX: Culture of Japanese Gaming Panel
At PAX 07, many of you witnessed first-hand the Pink Godzilla panel on the Culture of Japanese Gaming. Some of you did not attend. Perhaps you overslept after a wild night gaming at the Convention Center. Perhaps on your way to theater B you were pummeled by an avalanche of Sumo bean bags and you couldn't dig yourself out in time. Perhaps you were distracted by the DDR machine in the corner and you felt compelled to get your groove on. Perhaps your name is Ed Flemming and you were kicked out of PAX. Or perhaps Segata Sanshiro beat the pink out of you and your friends for not playing enough Sega Saturn over the weekend.

Dev Kit Tournament Results
Everyone's makin's videogames. And now, thanks to the PG Dev Kit Tourney at PAX, so is Rick the PAX Enforcer. That is because he was able to beat the field of Miyamoto hopefuls and emerge as the Dev Kit world champion. So what exactly did Rick win? Well in addition to 150 PAX points and a $200 gift certificate to use at Pink Godzilla, Rick won the opportunity to design his own videogame to be produced by Pink Godzilla. In addition to receiving the title of game designer, Rick's game will also be turned into a title card in the first Dev Kit expansion. Wow!
Thanks to everyone who participated. Good times for all. If you missed the Dev Kit tourney this year, don't worry. We'll have officially sanctioned Dev Kit tourneys throughout the year and there's always PAX 2008.
